                                  Happy Moon~th Day!

7/14/2022
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     Since the day I was created, father Poseidon tells me there have been 18 Blue Moon's and close to 516 or 559 Moon's (if you go by 13 Full Moon's a year).  Wow, how magical to think! I guess I'll never really be sure my age for certain as humans calculate things a bit different and many species of mermaids count it very differently our not at all.
 All that matters is today! So today for my very special Moon~th Day I will be counting my blessings and that my heart is full, my fins are happy and my mind is always dreaming!
Fish~kisses,
P.s. Do you count your birthday in human years or another way? How old are you?!
I met a merman! Meet Merman Jax
                                                                                                         Photo: Cheshire Visions
          On my adventures I have met other mermaids, pirates, unicorns, humans, magical wizards, and other mysterious creatures. I have heard the "tails" that mermen existed.  However, years swimming through the oceans never had I seen one. The stories said they were real, they said merman were brave, and strong protectors of the sea, and they said to lay eyes on one would mean you were truly lucky. Mermen were believed to be the rarest of all sea creatures.
    This winter I swam back home to the Mediterranean Sea and farther on into the secret waters within the ruins of Atlantis. On the cool shore that's where he appeared to me. I had thought the stories to be a myth but there he was as real as I was. His blue scales shimmering in the waves, he was real! His name was Merman Jax.
  In all of my years and on all of my adventures I never thought I would meet a merman. He was as kind and gentle as he was handsome, and as strong and fearless as the ocean waves.
  I told Jax about my travels and friends I have met along the way. I told him of the humans I have met and that I go onto land to entertain them. I told him how much happiness it brings to them. He told me he lives and swims near the beaches of California where he has met many humans as well and he too goes a shore to swim and enchant them. This wasn't far from where I now call home I told him. We agreed we would go on land together again and share in new adventures and bring as much magic to the humans as we could.
  I am honored to now have a sea~brother. We hope to share our magic with you all this year. You can now book Merman Jax with me, my sea~sisters, jellyfish girls, pirates, and Atlantean brothers for your special events, festivals, and parties. Let the adventures begin!
13 Things To Know When Meeting A Mermaid
      13 Things To Know When Meeting a Real Mermaid
    Meeting a real mermaid is a magical experience! I mean, how exciting, you get to meet a "mythical" creature you've only read about or seen in the movies! This is a chance of a lifetime! But.........there are a few things you should know before meeting a mermaid. Here are a few do's and don'ts to remember during this fin~tastic experience to make it a pleasant one for you both! I may add to this list later but here are a few things my sea~sisters and I encounter all the time when interacting with humans.
1. Never call her Ariel!
        Unless her name is Ariel, please don't call us Ariel! Though she is a lovely mermaid, no mermaid wants to be called another mermaids name.
2. Ask before touching.
      We love having our tails pampered but we are not pets and some of us are ticklish. Please ask before touching our tails. We will normally say yes, please just ask first.
3. Please don't ask ......
     Please don't ask us how we go to the bathroom! Though we may tell you in private, this isn't something we would like to address while entertaining a large group of humans, embarrassing!!!!
4. Do ask......
     Do ask us questions! We love questions! We love learning about humans just as much as you do about us. Most of us will be glad to answer your questions about mermaids and merfolk! (Please just nothing embarrassing. See #3)
5. OUCH! Please be careful.
     When meeting a mermaid on land or swimming please be careful. Our poor tails always seem to get stepped on, tugged on, and trampled. If you are lucky enough to swim with a mermaid remember to stay to the sides of her wide fin and please don't cannonball over the mermaid! (Yes, it happens). OUCH!
6. We love hugs!
      I personally LOVE hugs! I will get as many as I can! My sea~sisters agree, we LOVE hugs and we are as excited to meet you as you are to meet us!
7. Not all mermaids crash ships and drown sailors.
     There are as many types of mermaids as there are fish and we aren't all the same. Most of us are very friendly, kind, curious, and helpful. Though some are not as friendly we still aren't as awful as some of the stories that have been told. We are working hard to change the negative reputation of some of our misunderstood ancestors. So don't be nervous when meeting us!
8. Not all mermaids can sing.
  We all have our gifts and talents and for many of us singing isn't one of them. (Maybe that's where the rumors came from that a mermaid singing would crash a ship into the rocks. She must've had a terrible voice!) Ask the mermaid you meet what her skills, talents, hobbies, or gifts are, I'm sure she will tell you!
9. Believe!
     Please don't tell us we aren't real and poke at our tails. We are real and right in front of you. We came out of hiding to share our magic with you and bring you joy. Please believe in us. .*~'oO.*~'oO
10. No Fish Jokes.
  If you have a fish or sushi joke I'm sure we have heard it so if you tell us I hope it gives us a giggle because chances are we've heard it over and over and over and over again all day. I'm not saying we don't like to laugh!
11. Gifts!
   Most likely when you meet a mermaid she will give you a treasure, coin, or seashell. It's our custom to give trinkets when meeting new friends and we gladly except treasures in return and will love them forever!
12. Tail questions.
       I almost made this #2. We don't mind tail questions, just please be polite (no poking). Here are some answers to common questions. Yes, we are real. Yes, you may touch if you ask. Yes, we really swim. Yes, they are heavy and yes, we are FAST!
13. Take pictures with us!
     We LOVE taking pictures with you! Don't be shy, come say hello and take your picture with us! We may even take a "shell~fie" with you (but you'll have to make a fish face!)
 I hope this will help make your mermaid encounter a great one! Be sure to "Like" my Facebook page for more fun, updates, events and photos!
Hello Friends and Welcome!
                                                                                             Photo: Grant Brummett Photography
      Over the years many of you have followed and watched my adventures through photos online, and visited me during my visits on land at special events. I wanted to make a special place where I could journal and share some of my stories with you all. This is my first blog and I'm very excited! As you know, water and electronics don't mix, so I will do my best to post often when ashore sometimes with the help of my pirate friends. I hope you will enjoy my stories and share in the adventure with me. Welcome and Mermaid Blessings ~ Moon
